Founded in 1810, Wade Ceramics was one of the most respected British manufacturers of ceramics for both the home and the industry. The ceramics were made from fully vitrified porcelain – lead-free, food-grade and ISO9001 certified.

The Covid pandemic took its toll and Wade Ceramic closed the factory in 2023. However, their European distributor from Berlin did not hesitate, bought the factory and started production itself under the brand The Gluggle Jug Factory. It continues to practice sustainable production, where the vast majority of raw materials come from local sources and waste materials are carefully recycled.

In the meantime, the Gluggle Jug has been copied repeatedly. However, the copies are not as good as the original: they are not produced sustainably in Asia, they do not bubble and some are not even certified for drinking. So they are only used as vases. Yes, you heard that right: copies do not make gluggle! So stick to quality and fun, stick to the original!
